Bachelor of Chinese Language Program For International Students 2023
Qingdao University is situated in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, which is a famous tourist destination and leisure city of China . It was founded in 1909 and is now one of the key universities in China.
In 1993, Qingdao University became even more versatile when it was merged with three other major universities. It has a wide range of disciplines and is accredited to grant Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate degrees.
As one of the 50 Universities approved with the qualification of enrolling international students by the Ministry of Education, Qingdao University started enrollment of international students in 1987.
Qingdao University was approved as a HSK test center by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) in 1997. QU was authorized as The Demonstration Education Base of Study in China by MOE in 2014 and was authorized as one of 27 universities which is in conformity with the International students Education standard in China.
In 2017, over 1600 international students from 61 countries came to study at Qingdao University.
I. About the Bachelor of Chinese Language
The Bachelor of Chinese Language program is a part of the International Education College of Qingdao University. It was founded in 1998, and now includes 3 teaching departments:
the Department of MTCSOL (Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages), the Department of Undergraduate Chinese Language (Bachelor of Chinese Language), and the Department of Fundamental Chinese Language.
Many years of specializing in teaching international students and various international exchange opportunities have led to the creation of a team of professional, young, and internationalized teaching staff at the International Education College of Qingdao University.It is a 4-year bachelor program which aims to cultivate students to gain comprehensive and solid basic knowledge of general linguistics.
By giving courses on Chinese language and Chinese culture, carrying on culture-experiencing and social practice activities, this major aims to improve students’ comprehensive ability who are intended to become ones with certain literature and culture accomplishments.
Graduates will be qualified to do sino-foreign cultural communication work and become international-oriented, versatile and applied-talented specialized people who are with promising future development.
In addition to the specialized courses, the college has also partnered with outside institutions in order to establish a variety of extracurricular courses.
These courses guide students in deepening their understanding of Chinese culture, developing their language proficiency, and acquiring professional knowledge through personal hands-on experience.

*All documents mentioned above should be written in Chinese or English and should be an original or notarized copy.
III. Living Environment
Students are expected to live in the International Students Dormitory, where single and double rooms are available. Every room is equipped with central heating facilities. Rooms have private shower baths and toilets; all rooms are installed with air-conditioners. Shared kitchens and washing machines are also accessible to students in the dormitory.
The University campuses enjoy tranquil and convenient surroundings. All kinds of daily necessities are available in off-campus supermarkets at low prices. Post offices and banks are near the main gate of each campus. City bus routes connect all campuses with the downtown area, scenic spots, and the train station.

- This fee structure will be used from the beginning of study until graduation.
- All the fees should be paid in Chinese currency (RMB)
- The tuition fee and all other fees must be paid in cash.
- There can be no refunds available (for fees of any kind) if requested for personal reasons during the period of study at our university.
V. Scholarship
Qingdao Government Scholarship can be applied for this program. Qingdao Government Scholarship provides full coverage tuition fee for the 1st semester. Qingdao Government Scholarship application form is needed extra.
Students whose academic result rank top 20% and attendance rate reach 90% could get the full scholarship which provides the tuition fee for the 1st semester, next grade. Students whose academic result rank 20% -50% and attendance rate reach 90%could get the scholarship of 5000RMB for tuition-waiver.
